Government Leadership Assesses Exciting Developments at Former Imbaba Airport and Aziz Ezzat Area!

Exciting Urban Redevelopment Initiatives Unveiled in Giza

In a significant move toward enhancing urban infrastructure, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly convened a crucial meeting this past Sunday to discuss innovative redevelopment plans for the former Imbaba Airport site and the vibrant Aziz Ezzat area in Giza. The gathering saw the participation of key figures, including Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny, Giza Governor Adel El-Naggar, and Chairperson of the Urban Development Fund Khaled Siddiq. Together, they are driving forward Egypt’s urban renewal vision.

Prime Minister Madbouly highlighted the pivotal role of a cohesive and comprehensive strategy in upgrading areas that have long been in need of improvement. The Prime Minister’s focus was clear: to boost service quality, diversify available amenities, and enhance the usage of public parks. This aligns seamlessly with Egypt’s broader urban development goals and sets the stage for a brighter and more sustainable future.

Minister El-Sherbiny provided an encouraging update on the Imbaba Airport redevelopment project, revealing that 117 residential buildings are currently being rehabilitated. With an impressive 80% of exterior refurbishments completed across 93 buildings, the team’s progress is palpable. Moreover, advanced stages of drainage and water testing have been finalized in 100 buildings, marking an 85.5% completion rate. Out of these, 37 buildings have undergone full renovations, and electricity services have been successfully activated in 18 structures.

As part of this visionary urban expansion, El-Sherbiny unveiled plans for the new “Giza Park.” This initiative aims to maximize the value of its sought-after location, promising enhanced visitor services and transformed spaces, including a cultural center and beautifully upgraded green areas. Seasonal exhibitions are also on the agenda, designed to reinforce support for government programs benefitting productive families.

Khaled Siddiq provided insights into the redevelopment of the Kitkat district, encompassing 351 feddans, which includes the 42-feddan Aziz Ezzat housing area. Siddiq emphasized the urgent need for systematic re-planning in this vibrant area freshly rich with potential. Ongoing collaborations with the Giza Governorate are expected to yield a robust operational framework aimed at revitalizing the district.

In conclusion, Giza’s urban redevelopment projects signal a bright horizon for urban living, promising to upgrade infrastructure, enhance community services, and provide a more enjoyable lifestyle for residents. With the continued commitment from government officials and community leaders, these initiatives not only highlight Egypt’s growth trajectory but also set a precedent for urban development across the region.
