Transcorp Hotels Achieves Impressive N21 Billion Revenue Boost in Q1!

Transcorp Hotels Thrives in 2025: A Beacon of Growth in Africa’s Hospitality Sector

Transcorp Hotels Plc, the vibrant hospitality arm of Transnational Corporation Plc, has shared its astonishing unaudited financial performance for the first quarter of 2025, proving once again its resilience and forward-thinking approach in a challenging economic backdrop.

For the first quarter ending March 31, 2025, Transcorp Hotels reported a remarkable year-on-year revenue growth of a staggering 52%, climbing from N13.8 billion in Q1 2024 to an impressive N21.0 billion in Q1 2025. This growth story highlights the thriving confidence within Nigeria’s hospitality sector, showcasing not just recovery but flourishing operations amidst global economic turbulence.

What’s truly noteworthy is Transcorp’s ability to maintain a robust gross profit margin during this period. Despite facing a macroeconomic landscape characterized by rising inflation and increasing operational costs, the company succeeded in reducing its cost of sales margin from 28% in Q1 2024 to 25% in Q1 2025. This strategic maneuver led to a commendable gross profit margin of 75% in the first quarter of 2025.

Further emphasizing its financial prowess, Transcorp Hotels achieved a significant 59.6% increase in gross profit, soaring to N15.84 billion, compared to N9.92 billion in the previous year. This resulted in a profit before tax of ₦6.16 billion, slightly above last year’s figure of N6.09 billion. Notably, this was achieved without relying on extraordinary foreign exchange gains that bolstered profits last year.

Uzo Oshogwe, the Managing Director and CEO of Transcorp Plc, celebrated this momentum by highlighting, “Our Q1 2025 results demonstrate the underlying strength of our business and the effectiveness of our strategic focus on driving revenue growth. The significant increases in revenue and profit margins illustrate the dedication of our talented team.”

Transcorp has recently expanded its portfolio with the addition of the Transcorp Centre, an impressive 5,000-capacity event space, reinforcing its commitment to becoming a leader in the African hospitality landscape alongside its flagship property, the iconic Transcorp Hilton Abuja. This strategic expansion not only caters to the increasing demand for quality accommodation and event facilities but also signifies the company’s ambitions in a robust tourism market.

As we look ahead, Transcorp Hotels is set to continue this trajectory of growth, positioning itself as a pivotal player in the hospitality industry across Africa, where opportunities for innovation and excellence in service continue to flourish.

Stay tuned for more updates from the world of hospitality and business as Transcorp and many others in Africa adapt and thrive in these dynamic times.
