Celebrate Global Diversity at the UHV International Festival in Victoria, Texas
Mark your calendars! The UHV International Festival is back for its 10th year, ready to thrill visitors with a vibrant celebration of cultures from around the globe. Taking place in Victoria, Texas, this festival promises an exciting opportunity to explore and learn about various traditions, all from the comfort of one venue.
According to Julie Buchhorn Waldi, the international student coordinator, the festival is designed not only to celebrate the rich tapestry of global cultures but also to educate attendees about the diverse peoples behind them. “We’re thrilled to showcase life from many different countries, bringing together our community through the arts and traditions of nations far and wide,” she stated.
This year, the festival will feature 18 unique country booths representing nations such as Colombia, Egypt, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Each booth will be a gateway to experiencing the cultural essence, complete with traditional displays and engaging interactions. But that’s not all! Attendees can expect stunning performances that highlight the artistic flair of the participating countries, featuring everything from lively samba dancers to enchanting belly dancers.
The UHV International Festival is set to take place on Friday, April 11, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the UHV University Center parking lot. And here’s the best part—it’s completely free and open to the public! Whether you’re a local resident or just passing through, this is the perfect family-friendly event to dive into the flavors and rhythms of world cultures without ever leaving Texas.
