Marsa Matrouh Sees a Surge: Over 3.5 Million Health Services Provided in 2024!

Egypt Delivers Over 3.5 Million Medical Services in Marsa Matrouh

In a significant milestone for healthcare in Egypt, the Ministry of Health and Population has proudly announced that a staggering 3,574,335 medical services were delivered to residents of Marsa Matrouh Governorate throughout 2024. This impressive feat reflects the ministry’s unwavering commitment to enhancing healthcare access in the region, utilizing both hospitals and primary care centres to reach the local population effectively.

Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, underscored the ministry’s focus on sustainable development in alignment with the nation’s ambitious Vision 2030 plan. This approach aims to elevate the overall health standards in Egypt, showcasing the ministry’s proactive measures to empower underserved communities. As health initiatives grow, so too does their importance in securing a prosperous future for all Egyptians.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spectrum of services offered was extensive. The breakdown includes over 2 million procedures across various medical specialties. These encompass critical areas such as emergency care, internal medicine, surgery, and radiology. Outpatient clinics had a notable contribution, providing 794,336 services, while a significant number of 33,733 dialysis sessions were performed throughout the year. Additionally, the ministry has adapted to evolving healthcare needs by aiding 637 cases through remote diagnostic services and approving 6,382 state-funded medical interventions.

One standout facet of this healthcare initiative is the concerted effort of mobile medical convoys, which delivered an impressive 104,891 services across 111 missions targeting underserved and remote communities. This initiative exemplifies a tailored approach to healthcare that addresses the unique challenges faced by these populations, ensuring they receive the care they require.

The health ministry is also making strides in structural development, highlighted by the enhancement of nine hospitals in Marsa Matrouh. Notably, Matrouh Hospital received significant upgrades, including an expansion of its radiology department and the introduction of advanced medical equipment to improve patient care.

This commitment to elevating healthcare accessibility and quality, especially in remote areas, is a beacon of hope for the residents of Marsa Matrouh and sets a positive example for other regions in Egypt. As the Ministry of Health continues to innovate and adapt, the future of healthcare in Egypt looks bright.
