Brazil and Morocco Collaborate on Game-Changing Recoil Tsunami Tank for H225!

Recoil Aerospace Secures New Approvals for Fire Suppression Systems, Enhancing Air Support in Brazil and Morocco

In a significant advancement for aerial firefighting capabilities, Recoil Aerospace Inc. has successfully secured supplemental type certificate (STC) approvals from both Brazil’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (ANAC) and Morocco’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC) for its innovative Tsunami Airframe Fire Suppression System (AFSS) tank system. This milestone follows similar approvals already granted in the United States, Canada, the Republic of Korea, and Australia.

As the fire season intensifies in South America, particularly in Brazil and Chile, these approvals come at a crucial time. Joseph Rice, the President of Recoil and an experienced pilot, expressed optimism about the impact these systems will have on fire suppression efforts. “This approval is essential for supporting Brazil, Chile, and other nations in their firefighting endeavors during peak fire season,” he stated, highlighting the system’s efficiency and effectiveness.

The Tsunami tank system, which is mounted under the aircraft fuselage, offers numerous advantages over traditional bucket-based water delivery systems, including improved performance and the retention of the helicopter’s standard landing gear. This means operators can deliver significant water volumes quickly, enhancing the overall effectiveness of firefighting missions without compromising the aircraft’s structure or aerodynamics.

Looking ahead, Recoil Aerospace is not stopping at just H225 helicopters. The company is currently in the process of acquiring FAA STC approval to integrate the Tsunami system into UH-60/S-70i Black Hawk helicopters. This development is aimed at ensuring that firefighting teams have the best tools available as they prepare for the 2025 Northern Hemisphere fire season. Moreover, Recoil is also developing an internally fitted tank system for the Black Hawk platform, broadening the scope of its aerial firefighting solutions.

Conclusion

With these significant advancements, Recoil Aerospace continues to push the boundaries of aerial firefighting technology. The new approvals not only enhance the capabilities of firefighting teams in Brazil and Morocco but also mark a step forward in the fight against wildfires globally. As countries prepare for their respective fire seasons, the implementation of these systems is sure to make a positive impact in safeguarding communities and natural resources.
