Bracken High Matriculants Celebrate an Impressive 99.1% Pass Rate!

The excitement in Ekurhuleni South and Johannesburg is palpable, as schools across the region celebrate remarkable results from the 2024 matric examinations. It’s a year that will go down in the history books for local institutions, showcasing the dedication of students, teachers, and communities alike.

Bracken High, located in Brackendowns, set the bar high with an impressive pass rate of 99.1%. Hot on its heels was Trinityhouse Glenvista, which celebrated a commendable 99.0% pass rate. Other notable performances came from Glenvista High and Waterstone College, with pass rates of 91.4% and 99.0%, respectively. It’s clear that the hard work put into education in these schools is paying off, paving the way for an optimistic future.

Overall, Gauteng Province achieved a pass rate of 62.1%, evidence of a collective commitment to educational success that is inspiring across the board. Matome Chiloane, Gauteng’s MMC for Education, shared his elation over the outcomes. “We are thrilled with the results. They reflect the commitment and perseverance of our learners, teachers, and communities. We remain dedicated to enhancing educational standards across Gauteng,” said Chiloane, capturing the spirit of collaboration that underpins this success.

Some remarkable statistics from this year’s matric results include approximately 12,345 learners from Ekurhuleni South and Johannesburg participating in the exams. Top-performing subjects included Mathematics, Physical Science, and English, showcasing the region’s academic strengths. Notably, the number of distinctions achieved rose by an impressive 10% compared to the previous year, indicating a trend towards even higher standards.

As the successful matriculants embrace their achievements, many are now looking ahead to the next phase of their educational journeys. Whether it’s diving into tertiary education or pursuing vocational training, the future looks bright for these young scholars.
