The idea has been in the pipeline for a while, and in February, the decision to move forward was made, marking a thrilling new chapter for the retail giant.
These locations were chosen wisely, as they rank among Ackermans’ most high-performing stores out of over 800 locations across South Africa and neighboring countries. Grace added, “2019 was a year of firsts for us. Alongside the opening of our first concept store in Sandton, we also celebrated launching the 800th Ackermans branch. It’s been a remarkable journey.”
The store openings are part of a broader strategy aimed at growth and expansion in the South African market. Grace shared that the company plans to add more Ackermans Connect stores across the country by September 2020, responding to the positive reception of these pilot locations. Furthermore, there’s a commitment to growing their accessories business, ensuring more accessibility of products across all Ackermans stores.
