Morocco Showcases Its Sustainable Innovations at Berlin’s International Green Week!

Morocco Shines at International Green Week in Berlin

BERLIN – In a significant show of commitment to global agriculture and food sustainability, Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture, Marine Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Mohammad Sadiki, marked his presence at the 88th edition of the International Green Week in Berlin. The event runs from January 19 to 28, drawing representatives from around the globe, including the German Minister of Agriculture and Food, Sam Özdemir, and the European Commissioner for Agriculture.

One of the highlights of the opening ceremony was the inauguration of the Moroccan Pavilion, a vibrant showcase of Morocco’s rich agricultural heritage. Accompanied by dignitaries, including Moroccan Ambassador to Germany, Zohour Alaoui, Minister Sadiki emphasized the importance of promoting Moroccan agri-food products on an international stage. The pavilion features around twenty cooperatives and economic interest groups, each representing the diverse agricultural regions of Morocco.

Visitors can expect a feast for the senses as they encounter a variety of local Moroccan products known for their authenticity and quality. This event is not merely about showcasing; it aims to raise awareness of Morocco’s agricultural capabilities and strengthen the export of local products. Despite a wide variety of countries participating, Morocco’s presence stands out for its commitment to both tradition and innovation in the agri-food sector.

The International Green Week has been a staple in the agricultural calendar since its inception in 1926. It’s gained a reputation as one of the world’s largest events dedicated to food, agriculture, and horticulture, providing a platform that connects consumers, decision-makers, supply chain operators, and innovators in agricultural practices. This year, more than 1,400 exhibitors from nearly 60 countries will take part, expecting over 300,000 visitors across an expansive 118,000 m² exhibition area.

Morocco’s participation reflects its dedication to expanding its role in the global agri-food market while sharing its unique cultural identity through its exceptional products. As the country navigates through challenges and opportunities on the international front, events like the International Green Week underscore Morocco’s potential as a leading player in sustainable agriculture and food production.

Participants and visitors alike are encouraged to explore the Moroccan Pavilion and discover how Morocco’s agricultural sector is evolving and thriving in a competitive world marketplace.
