New Transport App Unveiled to Enhance the Experience of World Urban Forum Participants!

The bustling city of Cairo is gearing up to welcome over 20,000 attendees from more than 170 countries for the highly-anticipated 12th World Urban Forum, promising to be a pivotal event that focuses on urban development and sustainability. To enhance the experience for participants, Egypt’s Ministry of Transport has launched an innovative transport app that looks to simplify commuting across the city.

This new app is equipped to provide crucial information for attendees, offering real-time updates on bus schedules and locations of nearby stops. It features interactive maps detailing various public transport options, including Cairo’s metro system, electric trains, and an extensive network of public buses. Designed with user-friendly navigation, the app allows users to effortlessly plan their travel routes and adapt to their daily schedules throughout the forum.

Additionally, to further facilitate seamless transportation during the event, the Ministry has arranged free transportation services featuring 100 eco-friendly buses. These environmentally conscious vehicles will operate daily from key locations, including Mohandeseen, Sheraton, Abbasiya, and Dream Park, between 6:15 am and 10:00 pm. Significantly, nearly a third of these buses are equipped with accessibility features, ensuring that all attendees—including those with special needs—can travel comfortably.

As an added bonus, the app also provides promo codes for discounted Uber rides, giving participants even more affordable options for moving around the city. With over 500 sessions and workshops on diverse topics such as sustainable urban growth and inclusive communities, the World Urban Forum is set to be more than just a gathering; it will be a melting pot of ideas and solutions aimed at building smarter and more sustainable cities.

This year’s forum exemplifies Cairo’s commitment to being at the forefront of urban innovation and collaboration on a global scale. If you’re looking to be part of the vital conversation around urban sustainability, make sure to check out the new app and the myriad of discussions scheduled for this monumental event.
