Chadash Foundation Launches Ambitious N403m Project for a New Orphanage Benefitting JSK This World Orphan Day!

Chadash Foundation's Heartwarming Initiative: Building Hope for Orphans in Nigeria

In a truly inspiring move, the Chadash Foundation has unveiled plans to construct a state-of-the-art orphanage for the JSK community, with a significant investment of around N403 million. This remarkable initiative was announced by the Foundation’s founder and chairperson, Mrs. Temitope Adeola, during an event that brought together 29 orphanages to celebrate the 2024 World Orphans Day in Abuja.

World Orphans Day, celebrated annually on November 13, serves as an important reminder of the challenges faced by orphaned children across the globe. The Chadash Foundation, under Mrs. Adeola’s passionate leadership, went above and beyond this year, providing N1.7 million each to the orphanages represented at the event, with generous contributions from influential senators including Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Olamilekan Adeola.

Mrs. Adeola emphasized the Foundation’s mission to uplift marginalized communities, stating, “Our aim is to improve the lives and welfare of all marginalized groups through vocational training, quality nutrition, and sustainable employment opportunities.” The Foundation’s tangible impact is evident, having funded water boreholes, provided laptops, and empowered over 3,000 widows in Ogun State and the FCT. Notably, they have also supported more than 20 orphanages with skill acquisition programs, including their initiative dubbed “Youth Awake Summer,” which empowers orphans through various skills.

In her heartfelt address, Mrs. Adeola highlighted the immense responsibility society bears towards its most vulnerable members. She noted that Nigeria is home to over 17 million orphans due to factors like poverty and conflict, equating this number to the combined populations of multiple countries. With a call for collective action, Mrs. Adeola urged everyone not to turn a blind eye to the plight of orphans. “Every act of kindness can illuminate their world,” she stated, inspiring attendees to contribute towards changing the narratives of these children’s lives.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, represented by his Deputy, Jibrin Barau, expressed strong support for the Foundation’s endeavors, praising Mrs. Adeola’s humanitarian spirit. He emphasized that initiatives like these embody a divine calling to assist the less fortunate. Sen. Ali Ndume also lauded her work, affirming that those who contribute to aiding the underprivileged are walking a sacred path.

The celebration included a picturesque 1km advocacy walk, talent exhibitions, and the donation of various items to the orphanages. During the event, a stunning amount of over N200 million was raised, showcasing the community’s dedication to supporting this noble cause.

With plans to break ground on the orphanage soon, the Chadash Foundation is poised to make a significant difference in the lives of countless children. By uniting efforts to raise awareness and mobilize resources, the Foundation is setting an exemplary standard for compassion and community support.

Together, we can ensure that every child in Nigeria, and beyond, experiences the love, care, and opportunities they deserve.
