“Transforming Tomorrow: Key Insights from the Deputy Prime Minister at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference”

Vietnam Takes Center Stage at Hamburg Sustainability Conference

On October 8, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc captivated attendees at the inaugural Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) in Germany with a compelling keynote speech focusing on the reconstruction of economic systems towards a sustainable future. This event, which attracted leaders and decision-makers from around the globe, underscored the critical role of collaboration and innovation in addressing today’s pressing environmental challenges.

The Deputy PM’s address highlighted the importance of transitioning to an eco-friendly economy, calling for a unified approach among nations. He emphasized that sustainable development is not merely a national agenda but a joint effort that requires concerted action from all countries involved. The HSC presented an excellent platform for discussing practical solutions that align economic growth with environmental stewardship.

During his visit, Phoc also engaged in significant bilateral meetings, including discussions with Namibian President Nangolo Mbumba. These dialogues not only reinforced Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening its international relations but also fostered opportunities for cooperative efforts in technology and sustainability initiatives. In a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Mohammed Al-Ibrahim, the focus was on potential partnerships that could advance both nations’ economic and environmental goals.

A significant aspect of the Deputy PM’s itinerary included a working session with Hamburg’s Mayor Peter Tschentscher. This meeting served to explore local sustainable practices that could be adapted in Vietnam, aiming to enhance municipal and urban planning strategies.

Later that day, the Vietnamese delegation visited Airbus’s European manufacturing facility, further exemplifying Vietnam’s dedication to innovation within the aerospace sector. Joint efforts in technology transfer and sustainable aviation will not only boost Vietnam’s industrial capacity but also contribute to global sustainability efforts.

As Vietnam continues on its path as an emerging leader in sustainable development, its active participation and contributions at conferences like HSC reaffirm its commitment to global environmental priorities. Such initiatives position Vietnam not only as a vital player on the world stage but also as a model for other nations striving to balance progress with ecological responsibility.
