“Empowering Voices: Nana Boakye Sparks Change in Tema West”

On a vibrant Thursday in Tema West, an unexpected star emerged as the crowd enthusiastically welcomed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during his tour of the Greater Accra Region. The ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for 2024, Dennis Amfo-Sefah, also known affectionately as Nana Boakye, stole the limelight, captivating attendees with his charisma and dedication to his constituents.

As part of Bawumia’s visit, Nana Boakye found himself at the center of attention, as supporters congregated around him, chanting victory songs and rallying in a show of solidarity ahead of the upcoming December elections. This overwhelming display of affection marked a significant moment in Ghanaian politics, signifying a strong connection between the candidate and the voters. According to many present, such a level of enthusiasm for a candidate is unprecedented in the constituency’s political landscape.

In a heartfelt moment post-event, Nana Boakye expressed gratitude for the support he received, acknowledging that the affection shown by the constituents comes with great responsibility. “I am humbled and grateful for my constituents’ support; even though I am not yet in Parliament, their warmth and affection motivate me to strive harder,” he stated when addressing journalists covering the campaign tour. His promise to his supporters was clear: he will ensure their voices are protected and represented in the parliament.

Continuing his message of appreciation, Nana Boakye commended the Tema West community for their longstanding faith in the NPP and emphasized his commitment to build upon the strong foundation laid by his predecessor, Hon. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah. The NPP has held the Tema West seat firmly, with Ahenkorah previously serving two terms in office before deciding not to seek re-election.

Amfo-Sefah’s victory in the NPP’s parliamentary primary was a resounding one, winning by more than 6,000 votes. This clear endorsement has positioned him as a beloved figure within the local party circles, poised to lead the constituency towards continued progress and development.

As the elections draw near, the political atmosphere in Tema West is charged with optimism and energy. With such a passionate candidate at the forefront, many residents are hopeful about the positive changes that lie ahead. It’s clear that the relationship between Nana Boakye and his constituents is one to watch closely as the political landscape evolves in this pivotal part of Ghana.
