Jordan Ayew praises Crystal Palace’s win against Brentford as massive confidence boost

Ghanaian international Jordan Ayew has lauded Crystal Palace’s 3-1 victory against Brentford as a significant confidence boost for the team.

The win came at Selhurst Park over the weekend, marking an essential victory for Palace after a two-month winless streak.

Ayew, who provided an assist to Michael Olise for the second time in four days, emphasized the importance of the win as it was his last game before heading to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the Black Stars.

“It was a big game for us,” Ayew expressed. “We hadn’t won for two months, and it was important to win. It was my last game before I’m off to the Africa Cup of Nations, and I wanted to go away with a win.

“Obviously, it was the last game of the year [2023] as well, at home, so it was important to win and give the supporters something to cheer about.

The win was massive; massive for our confidence and for our belief as well. To end the year like that was perfect.”

Jordan Ayew, with 92 caps for Ghana, is set to make his sixth appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations, contributing his experience to the Black Stars in Ivory Coast.
