Camp Update: Black Stars hit the gym as part of preparations for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations

The Black Stars of Ghana have intensified their training as part of the preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Ghana male senior national team is one of 24 national teams that will meet in Ivory Coast this month to battle for continental glory.

Early this week on Tuesday, the Black Stars opened camp in Kumasi and have since been training at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium.

On Friday, January 5, the Black Stars players and technical team members hit the gym as part of the team’s training.

Head coach Chris Hughton is keen on getting his players in top shape before the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, January 13.

Below are some pictures from the team’s training.

Ghana at the 2023 AFCON will compete with Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique in Group B.

There is pressure on the Black Stars to advance to the knockout stage after failing to do so in the last edition of the tournament.
