Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, have departed for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Dressed in traditional white kaftans paired with vibrant green caps, the team proudly showcased the nation’s colours as they departed from Lagos on Wednesday.

The departure comes after a special dinner hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the prestigious Lagos House, Marina.

During the event, the governor rallied the team, urging them to secure victory in the tournament, emphasizing the potential positive impact on the citizens.

The AFCON is slated to commence on Saturday, January 13, while the team’s first match is on Sunday, January 14, against Equatorial Guinea.
