According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April, Turkey’s hot-rolled coil (HRC) exports soared by 164.5% year on year but dropped by 12.8% month on month to about 175,000 tons. Meanwhile, the export value was about US$123 million, falling by 13.5% month on month but hiking by 146.4% from the same period a year ago.
In the first four months, the HRC exports were nearly 652,000 tons, greatly increasing by 100.2% compared to the same period a year ago. During the same period, the export value grew by 86% year on year to about US$446 million.
Among them, Italy was the main export destination, with about 133,000 tons. Other destinations included Spain (about 99,000 tons) and Egypt (about 81,000 tons).
