MainOne, a West African data centre provider, has announced the opening of its extended open access, carrier-neutral, Uptime Tier III standards data centre, AB1.2, in Cote d’Ivoire.

This expansion seeks to address the growing demand for data processing, storage, and communication in Cote d’Ivoire and Francophone West Africa.

Etienne Kouadio Doh, MainOne’s country manager in Cote d’Ivoire, says: “We anticipate that this facility will serve as a catalyst for digital innovation, offering a solid framework for businesses to prosper and further cementing Cote d’Ivoire’s position as the digital hub for the Francophone West African area.”

Furthermore, the company claims the expansion allows it to serve more customers in Cote d’Ivoire by providing a suite of enterprise-grade digital solutions with access to global services and internet exchanges, such as the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), which is housed at the data centre.

MainOne was acquired by global data centre player Equinix in 2021.

“Customers will also receive access to over 240 data centres in 32 countries across the world through secure and dedicated interconnection services at our data centre via the Equinix platform,” according to the company.
