Monday, June 14th, 2021 5:31pm By WAM iStock Abu Dhabi has been ranked the most liveable city in the Arab world for the second year in a row, while Dubai is placed second in the region. That's according to the Global Liveability Index compiled by The Economist Intelligence Unit. The index surveys 140 cities across the world based on 30 factors, including stability, quality of healthcare, education and infrastructure, culture and environment. Abu Dhabi is ranked 63rd overall on the list, while Dubai is 74th. Auckland claimed the overall top spot, followed by Osaka and Adelaide. Abu Dhabi's latest ranking is a result of the government's continued social and economic development initiatives, and successful response to the challenges of the pandemic, particularly in the health sector. "The unified efforts between all government entities and the holistic vision of our leaders have always been the cornerstone of the emirate's pursuit to achieve more at all levels, including community development and quality of life in Abu Dhabi," said Falah Muhammad Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT).

HSBC Joins Morgan Stanley With Bullish Call on Dubai Real Estate

(Bloomberg) -- HSBC Holdings Plc said a growing demand for larger homes during the pandemic would further boost Dubai’s property market, echoing analysts at Morgan Stanley who expect the rally to last for “several years.”“The reported sales rebound in Dubai year-to-date has been remarkable,” HSBC’s Stephen Bramley-Jackson and Alok Baid wrote. Despite supply concerns and negative population growth, “the globally synched post-pandemic migration to larger homes is also reigniting Dubai’s residential property market,” they said.HSBC raised its recommendation on Dubai’s top developer Emaar Properties PJSC to buy from hold, saying the stock offered more than 90% correlation to property prices. Emaar, which reported a threefold increase in five-month sales, represents the “best means” of capturing the trend for the migration to larger homes, the analysts said.Business activity in Dubai has been picking up alongside a rebound in tourism and a fast distribution of coronavirus vaccines. The city has remained relatively open during the pandemic, and buying real estate is also one of the fastest ways for foreigners to get a residency permit. For properties worth at least 10 million dirhams ($2.7 million), a record 84 changed hands in March alone, according to data from real estate consultant Property Monitor.More from...

The broadcaster has entered into an agreement with the rights-holder agency TVMS (TV Media Sport) to broadcast the matches of the competition, the summaries of the matches and additional content such as magazines. “All the staff of Life TV are mobilized for the success of this exceptional operation which will confirm to all Ivorians the relevance of our program offer, including sports,” said Fabrice Sawegnon, CEO of Life TV.
