Omeruo’s Goal Not Enough As Zaha’s Brace For Galatasaray Sinks Kasimpasa

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was on target for Kasimpasa who lost 2-1 to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.

It was Omeruo’s first goal in the Turkish elite league this season.

Galatasaray’s two goals were scored by Côte d’Ivoire star forward Wilfried Zaha, who has now taken his tally in the Turkish league to three goals in eight appearances.

While the win saw Galatasaray climb to the top of the league table on 31 points, Kasimpasa are in 5th place on 18 points.

Omeruo and Zaha are expected to come up against each other when the Super Eagles face Côte d’Ivoire at next year’s AFCON in the French speaking country.

Both teams are in Group A alongside Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau at next year’s tournament.

The last time the Super Eagles clashed with Côte d’Ivoire at the AFCON was in the quarter-finals of the 2013 edition.

Emmanuel Emenike and Sunday Mba scored for the Eagles while the late Cheick Tiote was on target for the Ivorians.
