The Football Assocation of Zambia – FAZ- says it is racing against time to complete works at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as CAF officials are expected in the country next week to carryout inspections.
FAZ- Communications Manager SYDNEY MUNGALA says currently works are still underway as they race to meet the deadline.
MUNGALA is however confident the works will be completed on time and that all requirements needed to clear the country to host international games will be given by the Confederation of African Football -CAF-.
He told ZNBC Sports News in an interview today that if clearance is not given, the FA has already identified a suitable venue that will host the upcoming qualifiers fixture for the Chipolopolo.
MUNGALA he further says that the Men’s Senior National Football team will enter Camp on the 13th of November as they prepare for the upcoming back to back World Cup qualifiers fixtures against Congo Brazzaville and Niger.
He has since noted that Chipolopolo Coach AVRAM GRANT is keeping close tabs on the players to ensure that the best crop is picked for the upcoming qualifiers.
