Zelensky: Ukraine will become guarantor of food security of the UAE

President Volodymyr Zelensky told of an intensification of cooperation between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates. Zelensky revealed this in an interview with the Emirates News Agency WAM, the text of which was presented by the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state.

“We have already developed traditional areas of cooperation. The main export positions of Ukraine in the UAE are still the products of the agro-industrial complex and metallurgy. Indeed, Ukraine can and will become a guarantor of food security in the Emirates. Ukrainian chernozems are known all over the world, we are among the world leaders in the export of wheat, corn and barley”, said the President.

According to him, the UAE is a reliable and important trading partner for Ukrainian companies. This is confirmed by the fact that now more than 200 Ukrainian companies operate in the Emirates.

The total volume of trade in goods and services between Ukraine and the UAE in 2019 amounted to USD 1 billion 65 million.

In addition, Ukraine is working to ensure that high-tech goods that have high added value begin to dominate the structure of trade with the UAE.

On the other hand, Ukraine is ready to adopt the advanced experience of the UAE in the field of artificial intelligence, renewable energy sources, in matters of infrastructure development.

Earlier, Zelensky said that Ukraine will participate in the World Expo 2020 in Dubai and will be represented at the highest level.
