UAE begins commercial operations on Korean made reactor tech..

The Barakah-1 nuclear power unit in the United Arab Emirates running on South Korea’s proprietary reactor technology has started commercial operations on Tuesday, state-run utility Kepco announced. Korea is engaged in a power project to build four APR 1400 nuclear units in the UAE, the first overseas project led by Kepco. The four units are expected to provide stable power to cover up to 25 percent of needs in UAE.
