The comedy play ‘Just Like That’ is all things Dubai, returns to stage amid popular demand

When in Dubai, understand what life in Dubai is like from the local perception. Dubai or the United Arab Emirates is one of the most liked countries globally as it a home to more than 200 nationalities and you end up meeting people from all over the world, sometimes even on the same floor. The play ‘Just Like That’ is all about that.

The play which is set in Dubai was last staged in 2019, is going to be staged in the city again after a long gap. First staged in April 2018, the play was staged again in 2019 after a successful eight-show run. Due to its popular demand, the play is being staged again this month.

A Tall Tales Productions, the comedy play centres around residents living on the same floor in an apartment block in Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The floor is home to an Emirati writer, a British businessman, a European entrepreneur, a Lebanese air hostess, a South- Indian security guard and an Indian or Pakistani (you’re left guessing where he’s from) Investment Banker. With so many people from all walks of life, there’s a clash of culture, beliefs, perspective and a general way of life along with plenty of humour.

Making sure your funny bones are tickled to their fullest, the play aims to bring people closer in these challenging times. As the play returns with its version 3.0, it promises to bring in more fun for all. Though you may have watched the play before, the plot, characters and jokes have been updated to make it relatable to the current pandemic times.

The play will be staged at The Theatre Mall of the Emirates and on July 8 and July 10, 2021, from 7.30 PM.
