Technical Delegates workshop concludes in Dubai in preparation for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers

DUBAI (UAE) – The FIBA Regional Office Asia organized a workshop for its Technical Delegates on 12 and 13 October 2021 in Dubai, UAE.

This event was held to prepare the Technical Delegates for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 – Asian Qualifiers that will be tipping off in November 2021.  

Introduced by the FIBA Regional Office – Asia Executive Director, Mr. Hagop Khajirian, the two-day workshop covered a wide range of subjects, starting with game delivery, branding, TV and media operations. A full session was also dedicated to explain the COVID-19 protocols.

 “I want to thank each one of you for engaging and showing enthusiasm throughout the two-day workshop,” said Mr. Khajirian.

 “A FIBA Technical Delegate’s mission is not only to make sure the quality delivery of the games, but also to make a change in the mindset of the people they will be working with. That will be your mission as you prepare yourselves for the upcoming windows,” he added.

 The get-together enabled the participants to share experiences and ideas from the previous experiences. It was also a good opportunity for the new Technical Delegates to understand the competition calendar, the road to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, and all aspects related to their function.
