Sudatel obtains 4G license for Senegal operations

Sudan’s Sudatel Telecom Group has obtained a 4G licence for its Senegalese subsidiary Expresso.

The licence follows a meeting between a delegation headed by Sudatel Group president and chief executive officer  Magdi Taha with Senegalese President Macky Sall.

In a statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), the Sudanese firm said  the new licence will allow the group to improve current services, which it said will contribute positively to the development, economy and the telecoms market of Senegal.

The firm described the release of the licence as a “major breakthrough in Sudanese relations and investments abroad”.

Sudatel posted profits of $15.4 million in 2020, up from $7.97 million in 2019.
