Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Elected as UAE President

The Supreme Council of the UAE on Saturday elected His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, as the President of the UAE.

Following the announcement, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, congratulated Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, on Saturday accepted the condolences of Their Highnesses, the Federal Supreme Council Members, the Rulers of the Emirates, on the passing of the late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the Al Mushrif Palace.

The reception followed the funeral of Sheikh Khalifa on Friday night. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed was laid to rest on Friday night following nationwide prayers.
