A 43-year-old man who returned to Hong Kong from the United Arab Emirates on March 12 had contracted the coronavirus, the Centre for Health Protection reported.

The imported patient is the only case reported by health authorities today, marking the seventh consecutive day without an untraceable local infection.

There were also fewer than five preliminary positive cases today.

Hong Kong’s Covid tally now stood at 11,819, along with 210 deaths.

The Centre for Health Protection said 47 Covid infections had been recorded in the 14 days between April 30 to May 13 – including nine local cases, of which one had an unknown source.
