PM Mohamed Hussein Roble returns to Mogadishu following days of visit in UAE.

Somalia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has on Monday returned to the country after four days of official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

PM Roble on Sunday held talks in Abu-Dubai with UAE’s new President, Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening cooperations between the two brotherly nations.

The outgoing Prime Minister during his visit, conveyed official condolences from the government and people of Somalila to UAE on the death of their leader Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.

PM Roble also delivered messages of greetings and condolences from President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to the new President of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al- Nahyan.

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al- Nahyan was the President of the UAE since 2004, but his role had been largely ceremonial since he suffered a stroke in 2014.

The departed leader has already been laid to rest and accorded a state funeral.

Roble was received at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu upon landing by Ministers and other senior government officials.

This even as the new President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud officially took over power from former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo who was defeated in the recently held Presidential election in Mogadishu.

Mohamud is in the coming weeks expected to appoint a new Prime Minister as curtains fall on the term of the incumbent PRime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
