The country is to adopt a four-step plan designed to enhance its trading links with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The measures were announced following a meeting of the Pak-UAE Business Council (PUBC), a subsidiary committee of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI).

The first of these initiatives will see the launch of an official PUBC helpdesk dedicated to providing information and assistance to any Pakistani company looking to do business in or import from the UAE. A further move will see a dedicated team tasked with sourcing and analysing UAE-Pakistan trade data and delivering ongoing and timely business intelligence.

Thirdly, a series of workshops and online seminars will be organised for FPCCI members with a focus on how to build Brand Pakistan in the UAE. Finally, every effort will be made to ensure Dubai’s delayed Expo 2020 (now scheduled to run from 1 October 2021-31 March 2022) highlights Pakistani business opportunities to attendees from the UAE and beyond.
