The attraction is aimed at both tourists and UAE residents, explained Gail Sangster, asset manager at Nakheel Malls
“Several residents have now become tourists We have done a lot of different activities in the UAE that we probably wouldn’t have done due to limited travel”We definitely look forward to welcoming students, families and residents of the UAE,” she said
Sangster confirmed that work on the project began two years ago with US-based architects Gensler, and said the project was slightly delayed due to the Covid-19 crisis
“The Covid crisis initially delayed the project due to the blocking period. So we had to mobilize again. Covid-19 has been with us for over a year. We know that the pandemic is here, but at the same time we as Nakheel are opening our various.” Projects [like Palm Fountain and Palm West Beach] enforced while making sure all Covid-19 regulations are in place. And now Dubai is taking tourists in, so things are getting better, “she said
“This is our maximum capacity – not in the books right now. We will certainly try to reach this capacity at peak times once the tourism numbers return to Dubai and the world recovers from Covid-19,” explained Sangster
