ME Dubai (ME by Melia) which opened in November 2020 is now shutting down until September. The Zaha Hadid Architects designed five star hotel which was developed by Dubai based real estate group Omniyat took almost 6 year to build. The building which is branded as OPUS houses the ME Dubai Hotel but also The MAINE Land Brasserie and ROKA restaurants which are externally operated.
CPP-LUXURY.COM reviewed the hotel in January 2021. According to several market sources, Omniyat and hospitality consulting firm Roya are reportedly seeking to replace Melia with another operator. Despite the iconic stance of the architecture of the building, its location downtown has proven to be one of the major challenges.
