Make the most of Eid Al Adha festivities with a trip to this mountain-top tourist attraction in Sharjah

As the festivities of Eid Al Adha is around the corner, Emiratis have been busy making plans for the long break with family and friends. Along with the long break, the summers have kicked in too. And so, residents in and around Sharjah can get a breath of fresh air.

Away from the city’s hustle-bustle, a new tourist attraction is set to open during Eid Al Adha festivities. Nestled at a mountain top, Al Suhub Rest House in Khorfakkan is set to open its doors for tourists in the upcoming week.

Situated at a height of 580m above sea level, the new location is ready to offer its visitors stunning views of the city of Khorfakkan from all directions. Spread across an area of 1,200 square metres, the park also includes a lawn play area, a kids’ playground, and a farmhouse comprising energy-saving light poles.

The flying-saucer-shaped building has water fountains, benches, a restaurant and 90 car parking spaces on offer, making it a pitstop after a hike (or drive) to the summit.

The way to the Rest House has a specially constructed 5.63km stretch of road that offers picturesque views, giving the visitors the much-needed break. The place, filled with natural views and pleasant weather makes it an ideal spot for family outings or even an adventure.

While the Al Suhub Rest House opens its doors in the coming week, there are two more rest houses in the pipeline that set to open 253m and 480m above sea level. The projects were commissioned at the request of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, who directed the establishment of the Al Suhub Rest House.
