DUBAI – Tashkent, 11 June / WAM / Government of the United Arab Emirates and Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan inaugurated a new phase of joint global cooperation in the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries in government modernization, with two sides signing a Memorandum of Understanding an extension of the partnership for three years and the extension of its horizon to include 10 vital areas. To modernize the government’s work and increase the benefits of distinguished government experience within the government’s knowledge exchange program launched by the UAE Government.
His Excellency Shavkat Mirzaev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, received Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and the delegation from the UAE Government in the Uzbek capital Tashkent. During the meeting, the results of the strategic partnership in the modernization of the government were reviewed and the future prospects for its development to include various areas related to the work of the government were discussed.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Muhammad Abdullah Al Gergawi and Sardar Omar Zakov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in a move aimed at extending the Strategic Partnership Agreement on Government Modernization launched in April 2019, which reflects relations between the two friendly countries. .
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the areas and horizons of strategic partnership in government modernization between the Government of the UAE and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan were extended and its work was extended for a period of 3 years. The areas and axes of partnership included smart applications, public services, government accelerators, capacity building, strategy, national plan and government performance Public quality, business incubators, competitiveness and statistics, tourism, economy, industry, doing business, smart and safe city, programming “One Million Uzbek Coders Initiative ”, public service, insurance, prospects, airport management and free zones, education, tax administration, public relations and the media, the financial sector, customs and young leaders.
The areas of cooperation in the Strategic Partnership Agreement on State Modernization were updated to include the financial sector, the education sector, the economy, government management, food security and agriculture, ports and customs.
The expansion of the strategic partnership in the modernization of the government and the expansion of its territories reflect the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and build on the success of the partnership launched in April 2019, with the aim of developing institutional capacities and increasing their efficiency in the process of improving governance by taking advantage of the best experiences and advanced government models developed by the UAE Government.
