Emirates Airlines has announced the signing of a commercial agreement with Travelport, the leading travel company, to exempt Travelport’s travel agencies from air carrier surcharges on bookings via Global Distribution Systems that will be launched from July 1, 2021.
The two parties announced a new long-term agreement to adopt Emirates’ new distribution capabilities through Travelport’s next generation platform, Travelport Plus, and to extend the existing IT agreement.

Starting today, Travelport’s global network of travel agency partners will be automatically upgraded to a dedicated channel providing access to content at no additional cost. Agencies will also continue to benefit from a rich infographic experience when searching or booking with Emirates, as well as access to more offers, thanks to the long-term extension of the existing carrier agreement which allows the use of the rich content tool and the Travelport brand.”
