Dubai’s challenging race Al Marmoom Ultramarathon to take place in February 2022

All the marathon enthusiasts in the city can get a fix on their adrenaline as one of the most challenging marathons is about to take place in Dubai.

Marathon runners or even the ones who love challenges, a four-day marathon is on the charts in Dubai as the Al Marmoom Ultramarathon series is set to return in February 2022.

Confirming the news, the Dubai Sports Council announced the dates, and the event is set to take place from February 8 to 11, 2022. The four-day marathon schedule includes several stages taking place in different desert locations in Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, among which is a 24-hour non-stop challenge, putting the participants to the test. The exact distances of the race are yet to be revealed.

The event organised by Dubai Sports Council in association with FittGroup is the largest project of its kind in the world. The reserve where the event is taking place is spread across more than 40 hectares of land that’s home to over 200 native bird species, and almost 160 species of migratory birds and some of the world’s endangered species.

Started in 2018, the desert race will offer runners an opportunity to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. Not for the faint-hearted, the event would be a tough endurance race over a number of different desert terrains, each chosen to offer not only a challenge for the runners, whilst showcasing Dubai’s desert heritage.

The top three winners in each race category will receive trophies and prizes. Other participants will get a finisher medal.
