
A new committee has been established in Dubai for overseeing the emirate’s urban planning sector.
The Higher Committee for Urban Planning is also tasked with supervising the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council announced the formation of the new committee.
It will be chaired by Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Sheikh Hamdan said the 2040 Plan aims to enhance community happiness and overall quality of life.
He added that it will help put the spotlight on Dubai as a global destination of choice for citizens, residents and visitors over the next 20 years.
