Dubai remains the busiest international airport in the world with 29.1 million passengers. This was stated by Dubai Airport Deputy CEO Jamal Al Hai at his welcome address at the Airport Innovation and Development Conference at the Gulf Airport Leaders’ Forum (GALF) on the sidelines of the 21st edition of the Dubai Airport Show.

He welcomed the delegates, saying the golf was organized two years after the outbreak. He attributed the success of Dubai to one of the most trusted countries in the country in its successful handling of the crisis and in safeguarding the health and well-being of its people. He added that Dubai is booming in all economic and social sectors, attracting businesses, talent, investors and tourists.
Before the Kovid‌ 19 Pandemic, the number of flights arriving at Dubai airports was about 1,338 per day. Dubai has been the world’s largest tourist destination since 2014. Since the airport’s opening in 1960, Dubai’s airports have handled approximately 1.115 billion passengers on more than 7.47 million flights.

There has also been a huge increase in the number of commercial drones in Dubai. By 2022, 20,000 private drone users, 870 commercial drones and 181 commercial drone organizations have registered to operate drones. Future plans include unmanned traffic management, scheduled UA operations, night operations, multiple drone operations, autonomous drone operations, urban air mobility, unmanned aircraft delivery, high-speed drones and high-altitude drones.
