A Ghanaian banker, Dr Genevieve Pearl Duncan Obuobi; former Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye; and the Founder of futureladiesfoundation, Kweasibea Bosompem have been awarded by a Dubai-based Ladies In Business Magazine Global.
The three Ghanaians were among other awardees honoured at the S.H.E Awards UAE held in Dubai recently. Both Dr Obuobi and Madam Quaye won achiever awards, while Madam Bosompem picked the top ladies business category.
The purpose of the S.H.E Awards UAE was to show appreciation and recognition to all ladies and women in business in UAE and beyond, Adeshola Helen Onadipe , Founder/Publisher of Ladies In Business Magazine, said.
She added that the awards event is meant for ladies and women in business who have risen above their struggles and now become successful in their own capacity.
“These women have come a long way and gone through series of journeys in their life in all ramifications. They have also come to good understanding and knowledge of themselves and their businesses.
They are also the ladies and women in business with great ideas and outstanding innovation. Their good deeds have eventually paved the way for a greater cause to change their lives and their businesses”.
And that is why she is crowning their efforts with S.H.E AWARDS because they are the SHEROS of our time. The S.H.E means- Sophisticated, Highly Recognised and Excellence”, according to her.
“The award is basically to applaud, reward and encourage ladies and women in business and leadership positions impacting their space”. She disclosed that the event would be carried out on yearly basis from different location in UAE.
Madam Onadipe said she organised the maiden S.H.E Awards in Nigeria before extending it to the UAE. She is willing to take it to other African countries, according to her.
Categories of the awards include: achievers; corporate ladies in business; top ladies in business; and young female leaders.
Receiving the award, Dr Obuobi who is the Branch Sales and Service Manager of Fidelity Bank Ghana, thanked the organiser for the honour done her.
