Côte d’Ivoire: creation of a national employment and training observatory

To collect, analyze and disseminate information on the labor market, the Ivorian state has created a National Observatory for Employment and Training (ONEF), according to a decree adopted by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

“The Council adopted a decree on the creation, attribution, organization and functioning of a national public establishment of an administrative nature called the National Observatory of Employment and Training (ONEF)”, declared to the press the spokesperson of the Ivorian government, Amadou Coulibaly.

He specified that ONEF’s mission is to “collect, analyze and disseminate information on the labor market, and coordinate in conjunction with all the players in the world of employment and training. , the labor market information system ”in Côte d’Ivoire.

The Head of State, he recalled, made the issue of employment a priority in his governance. As a result, the government has undertaken major structuring projects since 2011 and improved the business climate which has fostered private investment and massive jobs.

According to the spokesperson for the Ivorian government, “ONEF is in addition to an existing mechanism in order to strengthen the action of the State in the sector of job creation and the match between training and education. ’employment’.

Several entities in charge of the issue of employment operate on issues related to the employability of young people, including the Youth Employment Agency, which regularly publishes job offers in partnership with public and private structures.
