The Black Queens have been drawn to face African giants Nigeria in the preliminary round of the 2022 AWCON qualifiers in a draw by the Confederations of African Football(CAF).
For the first time ever 45 countries will be competing in the draw to participate in the first ever 12 member AWCON.
The draw was held on Monday 10th May,2021 at the CAF headquarters in Cairo.
Ghana and Nigeria will face each other with the winner of the tie facing Niger or Cote d’Ivoire in the second round.
There has been a lot of changes that have happened to this years qualifies as the number of participating teams have been increased while teams in the tournament has also been increased.
The qualifying series will start during the international window of June 2021 and end before the final tournament in Morocco scheduled from July 2 to 23, 2022.
