The United States pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai hosted a panel discussion entitled “Benefiting from International Partnerships in Space Exploration,” which included members of specialized companies, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Jacobs Engineering Group.

The speakers discussed ways of cooperation between countries and each other and between governments and private sector companies in space exploration, and the importance of these discoveries in solving environmental and climate problems facing the planet.

“The first step before any international partnerships in space exploration is to understand the nature of this sector,” said Colgate Gata Ora, president of Boeing Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

Then every company and every country will know its required role and what it can provide in this regard.”

Don Hicton, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Space, Technology and Nuclear Business for Jacob Group, stressed the importance of cooperation to drive innovation, especially among young people, noting that space exploration will benefit the entire climate and sustainability issue, which is a critical issue for all at the present time and requires the solidarity of all nations .

“We want to be pioneers in using space technology for food security and help solve the climate change crisis,” said Allen Herbert, Managing Director of Start Lab Oasis.

I see the MEASA region as going to be one of the strongest regions in terms of space, and we look forward to being a part of that.”

He continued: “Space is for everyone, and everyone must participate in it;

That is why I always talk about the emerging countries of space, namely the countries of the Middle East, Africa and Latin America;

This is the time for all of them to get involved, and I hope to see more American companies partnering with space entrepreneurs from these countries.”

Robert Harward, CEO of Lockheed Martin in the Middle East, discussed the research universities model of cooperation, stressing that space is a place everyone aspires to go to.
