The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has announced the launch of a tender for the implementation of three integrated truck rest stations in partnership with the private sector. The agreement takes into account all the provisions contained in the Law No. 22 of 2015 regulating the partnership between the public and private sectors in the Emirate of Dubai. The stations are distributed over vital sites, the first of which is located on a street Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed near the third Jebel Ali Industrial Area in the direction of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the second on Emirates Road near the entrance to the Emirate of Sharjah, and the third in Dubai Industrial City near Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
His Excellency Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Authority, said: The implementation of the project will be in partnership with the private sector through a commercial model through which the investor will design, build, finance, operate and transfer the ownership of the truck rest area with all its facilities to the Authority after the expiry of the contract period, which ranges from 25 to 30 years..noting that the authority, through this project, provides a long-term investment opportunity for the private sector to add innovative and smart services and diversify sources of revenue, in order to achieve the main objectives of partnership projects between the public and private sectors..he noted that the opportunity is available for local and international companies to submit their offers financial and technical.
