Musa Drops Super Eagles Retirement Bombshell

The 31 year-old Musa, who is Nigeria’s most capped player, is in his 13th year as a full International, is one of only two players from the victorious 2013 Super Eagles.

Quizzed about his plans to quit the national team after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, “if Nigeria wins”, the winger said:

“Of course I’d like to win the AFCON again, it has been 10 years since we last won it. But, nobody knows what the future holds.”

Misa spoke on a range of issues as he fielded questions from journalists during Nigeria’s pre-match presser, ahead of the team’s opening match at the 2023 AFCON.

The veteran urged fans to get behind the team as they aim to achieve glory in Côte d’Ivoire.

“The players were disappointed with the way we lost our last time and we don’t.want a repeat of that. We don’t want to respond to questions of our commitment anywhere else but on the pitch.

“Since he was named Super Eagles coach, the Boss has made it a mission to win the AFCON and that’s the spirit in the team.”
