The International Indian Film Academy Awards, which were scheduled to return to the UAE on Saturday for the first time since 2006, have been rescheduled.
The event will now be hosted at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island from June 2 to 4. Earlier, the organizers had announced that the event has been postponed till July following the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The announcement was made in accordance with the country’s statutory 40-day mourning period.

Over the course of three days, the IIFA Weekend & Awards will showcase performances by some of India’s biggest stars, with many of the year’s best films and actors being honored on the final night.
Taking it to Twitter, the IIFA announced the new dates and wrote, “The excitement is for real! June 3rd and 4th, 2022 have been confirmed for IIFA Rocks and the IIFA Awards.”
The people who had already purchased the tickets will receive new tickets directly over email by Tuesday, May 31.
The person will be assigned the same seat in the same section as what he/she has previously purchased. If the person does not receive the new tickets by May 31, then he/she can contact http://etihadarena.ae directly.

The organizers had announced the postponement of the star-studded event earlier on Monday.
The IIFA expressed its deepest condolences to the people of the UAE and the world on the passing of the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and stated that the 22nd edition of the IIFA Weekend & Awards to be held on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi from May 19 to 21, 2022, has been postponed
The IIFA Awards is conceptualized by Mumbai event company Wizcraft International Entertainment, first held in 2000, to honor the greatest Hindi films and cinematic stars of the preceding year.
