Huawei preps to launch Egypt AppCup finals at Huawei “Developer Day” for the first time in Egypt

Cairo, October 28, 2019: Huawei Consumer Business Group announces its readiness to launch the final phase of the Egypt AppCup competition during ‘Huawei Developer Day’ conference that will be held on Oct 31st, 2019, as a part of Insomnia and Africa Game & Digital App (AGDA) under thepatronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology hosted by (ITIDA) at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
Egypt AppCupis a Challenge that is jointly organized by TIEC and Huawei to university students and fresh graduates in Egypt who are creative, and want to practice developing android applications. This is a platform for youth to practice and encourage innovation. We expect that it will not only bring ICT knowledge but also valuable Android developing experience to the participants. This will help them with their study as well as their future careers.
Also the competition is a part of Huawei’s “Shining-Star” Program, which aims to support developers in Egypt and across the world to provide innovative and intelligent solutions by designing smartphone applications that addresses three key sectors: transport, health and tourism, as Huawei enables developers to launch their smart applications on the HUAWEIAppGallery serving more than 390 million global monthly active users in more than 170 countries and regions.
“At Huawei we are focusing on the development of young calibers and that is why we have launched the Egypt AppCup Competition to promote, support and enable the role of young developers in achieving the goals of Egypt’s 2030 vision for Sustainable Development and we have also pumped massive US $1 billion investment in our “Shining Star” program, which invites developers around the world to join Huawei Mobile Services that supports developers in their innovations to meet the challenges of the future”, stated Adam Xiao, Managing Director of MENA Mobile Services, Huawei Consumer Business Group.
Huawei aims to reach Egyptian developers in all provinces, where more than 400 Egyptian developers are registered for the competition. Thirty teams of 80 developers were selected to attend BootCamp training on how to implement their innovative ideas in designing a smartphone app. Six teams will compete to win the Egypt AppCup, where the winners will be announced on the sidelines of the Huawei Developers Day conference on October 31st, 2019.
It is worth mentioning that, during HDD 2019 Egypt, Huaweiwill also share their new ecological constructionstrategy and showcasing their common vision of the future, including optimized app/gaming experience, top quality content discovery, AI-powered tools, and much more.
