“Though our principal category is berries, we also offer a large assortment of stone and citrus fruit to our clients in the UAE, including hypermarkets, supermarkets, wholesale markets and catering companies,” said managing director Mohamed Baraket. The fruit is sourced from various origins, such as Morocco, Tunisia, Spain, Mexico and South Africa, to ensure year-round supply. The company has faced significant challenges during the pandemic, especially the first months of 2020. Fortunately, when the borders reopened, airlines resumed flights, and since July 2020, the fruit import market in the UAE has been back to normal. Golden Garden mainly supplies premium fruit and berries, with a focus on high-end customers. “We are promoting door-to-door sales through online platforms, as we feel this has become the most promising channel,” Baraket said.
