GHALCA announces free gate for 2024 President’s Cup

GHALCA has announced that the 2024 President’s Cup game between Asante Kotoko and Ivorian football powerhouse ASEC Mimosas  at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi will be free for spectators.

The highly anticipated game is scheduled for March 5, 2024, just a day before Ghana’s 67th Independence Anniversary celebration.

Traditionally contested between two Ghanaian clubs, the President Cup serves to honor the sitting President of Ghana and has been a longstanding tradition for nearly two decades.

However, in certain instances, the cup has featured clubs from other African countries, and this year follows that trend with the inclusion of Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas.

The presence of both H.E Nana Akuffo Addo, the President of Ghana, and H.E Alassane Ouattara, the President of Cote D’Ivoire, is expected at the game.

Both Heads of States will watch the match together from the official box.

In a generous move, the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has announced free entry for all football enthusiasts in Kumasi who wish to witness the game.

Asante Kotoko, with eight previous successes in the President Cup, aims to secure their ninth title, with their last victory in 2019.

The clash between Asante Kotoko and ASEC Mimosas promises to be a spectacle, showcasing the prowess of these two football giants from Ghana and Ivory Coast, respectively.
