In an effort to boost the development needs in Nigeria by improving electricity supply, including renewable energy through cutting-edge technologies, the Minister of Power, Engr. Abubakar Aliyu, received SamPro Group, a delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in his office.
The visit which was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, was led by Dr. Kassim Gidado, and is in furtherance of an earlier discussion on renewable energy during the visit of the Hon. Minister of Power to Dubai investment earlier a statement by the Assitand Director, Press Odutayo Oluseyi, noted.
Speaking during the meeting, Engr. Abubakar affirmed the commitment of the Federal Government to see that there is effective power supply for Nigerians.
He further informed the meeting that the Federal Government through its energy transition programme is working/gearing towards renewable energy through cutting-edge technology which is able to store and convert energy into electrical energy through natural resources.
The Minister who was so optimistic that the cutting-edge technology as presented by the group will greatly improve electricity and will fit into the mini grid policy of the Federal Government, welcomed the technical transfer of knowledge which Nigeria will benefit when the technology is fully deployed across the country.
He directed further consultations between the ministry officials and SamPro Group to determine the next step of engagement.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the team, Dr. Kassim Gidado appreciated the Minister of Power for the opportunity to visit his office and promised to be committed in the engagement with the Ministry of Power.
He said, “We further strongly believe in promoting the local economy by investing, employing local resources, consumption of local raw materials and delivering 100% local products to our clients”.
Technical Director SamPro Group, Dr. Salmon, while presenting the company proposal, stated that to have sustainable and reliable electricity energy, an additional source of energy is required.
