Falcon and Eve form partnership to introduce eVTOL touristic flights in Dubai

Eve Holding, the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) solutions provider and subsidiary of Embraer SA, has announced its partnership with Falcon Aviation Services to introduce the electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) tourist flights in the United Arab Emirates.

The parties signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for up to 35 eVTOL aircraft and have agreed to join forces with local stakeholders and authorities to support developing the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) ecosystem for the United Arab Emirates.

According to Andre Stein, co-CEO of Eve, the recently announced partnership is expected to help both companies position Dubai “as a leader in the urban air mobility market” as well as to deliver an effective and sustainable new urban air transportation solutions.

Deliveries are expected to begin in 2026.

Falcon, a major provider of business aviation operators across the Middle East and Africa, plans to operate the new-generation air vehicles on touristic flights from the Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai.

“We are particularly proud to take a new step in the UAE, in a project that will be revolutionary for sustainable urban mobility,” Ramandeep Oberoi, Chief Operating Officer of Falcon was quoted as saying in a statement made by Eve on June 7, 2022.

“We are ecstatic to partner with Eve and be the first operator of eVTOL in Dubai & the MENA region. The launch of this concept fully aligns with the Smart Dubai vision and will contribute to positioning Dubai as a global leader in sustainable Urban Air Mobility transportation,” he continued.

Most recently, on May 31, 2022, Eve announced another partnership with Porsche Consulting to help define the eVTOL supply chain, global manufacturing, and logistics macro strategy. The two companies aim to combine their aeronautic and automotive expertise to support Eve’s implementation plan.

Through a “master services agreement” the two companies are focused on sharing their expertise and knowledge bases, which include research and studies on industrial operation, logistics, supply chain, and parts distribution.

According to Eve, the UAM addressable market is an estimated $760 billion industry, the company will not rush to launch its aircraft, which it has positioned as a flying taxi. During a press event on May 31, 2022, Stein emphasized that the company is prioritizing heading in the “right direction” over rushing to provide investors with a preview of a prototype.
