Extremely high interest of foreign investors in investing in Serbia

Mali, who is participating in the spring session of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington, said in a statement to the Tanjug agency that he presented Serbia’s economic results and investment opportunities in our country at the investors’ meeting.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that he had spoken with representatives of more than 20 large investors and that he had never seen so much interest in investing in Serbia.

He estimated that the great interest of investors is a consequence of the responsible economic policy that Serbia has been implementing for years.

The Deputy Prime Minister, answering the question which was the main asset of our country at the meeting with investors, said that two factors are decisive – growth and stability.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that he also met with the representatives of the credit agency Moody’s and that there is a precise plan of what and how we need to do so that Serbia reaches the investment rating already this year.

He pointed out that he also spoke with Vice President of the World Bank Antonella Bassani, adding that our country is one of the largest partners for that financial institution with €4.6 billion worth of active projects.

Mali explained that it means a lot when the World Bank, which has great credibility, said that Serbia’s GDP will be 3.5% this year, as well as the IMF.

According to him, at every meeting in Washington, the organisation of the EXPO International Exhibition was discussed, and everyone believes that this, together with the “Serbia 2027” plan, is the most important and greatest development opportunity for Serbia.
